Two years ago I learned how easy it is to make bread and rolls. I do it once or twice a week. After a few months, our mixer began to show signs of wear and make noise. My wife wanted a KitchenAid mixer, and I balked at the price, of course. After a few weeks, I gave in and bought her a 6 Quart KitchenAid Mixer. The first time that I used the mixer, I was in for a surprise. With the old mixer, I would add the liquid, sugar, salt, yeast and most of the flower. As the mixer ran, I would add flour until the dough reached the right consistency. I could tell when the dough was the right consistency because the motor would slow down. I thought that it would work the same with the KitchenAid. Think again! The KitchenAid never slowed down. It has power. It also prepares the dough faster. Since my wife insisted that we buy some attachments, I decided to try making hash brown potatoes with the slicer attachment. It was fast and simple to set up, worked really fast and was easy and fast to clean up. I used to use a box grater to make hash browns, but the KitchenAid is actually faster than the box grater, and easier to clean. During deer season, my son got a deer. Then he asked if he could borrow the KitchenAid with the meat grinder attachment so that he could grind some burger. He picked up the mixer, then returned it about three hours later. I asked how it worked. He said that reading the instructions, setting up the grinder, grinding about 40 pounds of meat and then cleaning up took about an hour. He was impressed. Overall, I am very impressed with MY KitchenAid mixer. I even let my wife use it. She is looking forward to making large batches of Christmas Cookies.
